DukanDiet.com is a personalized weigh loss coaching service. It combines 1 on 1 support with dietary advice, recipes and a variety of products which can be purchased through its online shop.
We were particularly pleased by the level of support this site appears to offer its clients. You are assigned a team member who is your personal coach, helping you with anything from cooking questions to exercise tips, whilst helping you to develop eating and exercise plans to achieve your goals.
When you first sign in, you are asked to complete a questionnaire. This helps the team to understand your history and goals, and that information is then used to help develop your weight loss plan. This isn’t a quick fix, and the plan suggested for our profile lasted for 8 months. At around $30 a month this isn’t very cheap but it is still fairly affordable, especially considering the amount of support you could receive.
Aside from professional support, the site also allows members to communicate with each other or read blog posts. These elements aren’t quite as developed as we’ve seen elsewhere but it’s nice to have the options available to us.
The shop offers a range of items, from marinara sauce to French treats. You can also find shirataki, a low carb Japanese noodle which also has very few calories. Supplements and oat bran are also available. We would prefer to see additional items for sale, including exercise equipment, but we assume that the 1 on 1 professionals can make suggestions as to the sort of equipment which would be needed for your exercise plan, and where to get it.
There are online recipes to look at, though not that many of them. Still, these recipes are provided for free, prior to your signing up as a full paying member. The site also claims to be Doctor Trusted, so you can rest assured that the products being sold are not harmful.
Dukan Diet’s website is a bit bare-bones and there aren’t really a lot of apps or features for you to track your eating habits and exercise regimes. You are therefore fairly reliant on your coach to help you through.
DukanDiet.com might be an attractive prospect if you’d like the support of a live coach who can help to tailor your diet and exercise to reach your weight loss goals. However, if you’re more independent then you might feel restricted by its lack of tools and additional features. Prices are fair, but additional online content would be beneficial to all members.
