Editor's Review:
JennyCraig.com provides a range of tasty pre-prepared meals for busy people who want to lose weight. Rather than having to research every ingredient and cook fresh food for every meal, you simply purchase their products and eat a healthy diet.
You can also take advantage of their consultants, who are specially trained to understand your needs and recommend actions to help you lose weight.
Food is the main resource from Jenny Craig, although you can also gain access to designed exercise plans to help you lose and maintain your weight. Their in-center options allow you to consult with an experienced team member as often as you like.
Meanwhile, the Jenny Craig Anywhere option provides support via the phone or online, 7 days a week in North America. This is a more flexible option if you think you’d be more likely to access tools and help online, rather than dropping in to a center.
If you take up the online options, you can also get face to face support using live video chat. This is an option you won’t find on many other weigh loss websites, so it’s a real boon.
Community features include a message board, blogs and chat rooms, and they seem to be used quite frequently, which is good to see and very helpful if you want a bit of communication with people going through similar struggles as you.
Because you order and eat specially designed foods on this diet, plus receive unlimited 1 on 1 support from a consultant, the Jenny Craig diet options aren’t cheap.
Food costs (on average) around $23 per day. This seems like quite a lot of money, although they claim that the average food bill only goes up around $1 per day.
If you check the website now and again, you’ll find that there are sales periods, offering discounts on membership.
Food prices will vary depending on what you order, and whilst all of the meals look tasty (and even include some treats such as chocolate cakes or burgers) there isn’t a huge range to choose from, particularly if you compare it to cooking for yourself. Still, there’s enough variety that you shouldn’t get bored by the options too quickly.
There are several success stories to read, with before and after pictures of the slimmers. There are some impressive results, and this can really help to keep you motivated.
There’s not much in the way of exercise tips or workout schedules, at least not until you have a consultation. Before joining you can apply for a free consultation where you can talk through your goals with a member of the team and they can recommend the sorts of activities and foods you can try with Jenny Craig.
Jenny Craig offers a range of tasty looking foods, with a few treats which mean you won’t miss your old favorites too much. Their unlimited one on one consultations are also an interesting idea and may prove fruitful if you feel you’ll need a lot of support.
However, it’s expensive and online tools are very limited. We’d recommend trying a free consultation and waiting for a sales period to give it a try, unless you don’t mind the full cost.
