Editor's Review:
FitDay combines professional support from dietitians, with a variety of useful tools to help you lose weight and keep it off.
Whilst it’s not the cheapest option around, the expert advice and support are great for keeping you motivated and tracking accurate data to help improve your weight loss and attain your personal goals.
Information is key, and the online tools help to keep precise records of your eating habits and activities, so the team can offer suitable advice for improvement.
Whilst some weight loss websites leave you to the task of analyzing your data and deciding on the next steps, FitDay.com provides experts to do this for you. The benefit here is that your data is analyzed by professionals who know what they’re talking about.
From there, they talk over your goals and recommend areas that you can improve on. For example, they might suggest reducing your sugar intake by cutting out fruit juices, or increasing your protein by adding more eggs to your diet.
In addition to food recommendations, there’s a strong fitness element to Fit Day. Your team will recommend exercises as you keep an activities log. This might simply be walking a little more, or working on a particular schedule to make sure a specific part of your body is stretching and moving as much as possible. Again, the professional eye oversees this, so it’s not left down to guesswork.
To help them out, you provide regular data updates on what you’re eating and which activities you’re doing. These are stored electronically and you can also download apps to help you do this if you’re eating or exercising outside of your home.
Regular updates are made simple using the apps, and keep the data accurate, therefore allowing the professionals to make better decisions on how you can progress.
Aside from the professional support, you can also gain support from your peers. Other dieters use the site’s community features, such as message boards, forums and live chat, to exchange ideas and tips.
If you’re ever feeling like you want to give up, you’ll find plenty of people to boost your morale and keep you going through the tough times.
Fitday.com doesn’t really have sample menus, recipes or exercises to explore. However, it does offer a free 1 week trial so you can see what is on offer. After that period, the service is relatively expensive, though, so you may wish to consider whether it’s in your budget.
Still, compared with hiring a personal trainer and dietitian, it works out pretty cheap. Premium and PC options also offer a cheaper alternative, allowing you to use the online tools but not have access to the dietitians.
Overall, we were impressed by the professional advice and support offered by this website. The real drawback is the price, but if this isn’t an issue for you then we’d recommend trying out the one week trial to see what it has to offer.
If you’re interested in the tools that are available, but not the dietitian services, you could always opt for a Premium or PC account.
